PRSSA R.O.P.E. in Success Event

On April 19th,
2007 a group of over 70 alumni, friends and students came together
to celebrate the outstanding achievements of the members of the
Public Relations Student Society of America (PRSSA). The PRSSA
R.O.P.E. in Success event had a unique name, as R.O.P.E
stands for Research, Objective, Programming, and Evaluation, which
is an important theme in the Public Relations program and industry.
The R.O.P.E in
Success event was an informal cocktail hour that gave friends a
chance to network and relive old memories. Current seniors presented
their Bateman Presentations, which exemplified how well the PRSSA is
preparing future leaders in this field.
The highlight of the
night came when Tom Coyne, President of Coyne Public Relations, was
honored for his continued support of Public Relation’s students here
at Seton Hall. Tom, while not an alum of Seton Hall University,
currently employs nine full-time employees and two interns, all of
whom have attended and been members of Seton Hall’s PRSSA. Tom says
Seton Hall University students who go through the Public Relations
program, under the leadership of advisor Dr. Kathleen Donohue Rennie,
are some of the best prepared students in this highly competitive
job market.
The night also saw
nine graduating seniors receive their honor cords for graduation.
This is the first year that the PRSSA has presented seniors with
honor cords making the night even more memorable for those in
attendance.
The event was a great
way to send the seniors off into the working world and honor a
friend of the University that does so much for our students.
The PRSSA R.O.P.E
in Success event was part of the Office of Alumni Relations
mini-reunion initiative that brings back specific constituency
groups to campus. For more information on this event or other
mini-reunions, please contact Ryan Witt at (973) 378-9821.
